ENTRY INFORMATION AND COMPETITION RULES

SECTION 1. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
1.1 – COMPETITOR REQUIREMENT
Competitors may compete independently OR as part of a dance school, but may not dance independently and as part of a Dance school. Likewise competitors may not compete with more than one school at the same event. When competing on behalf of a school only dance teachers may enter competitors on their school behalf. Dance teachers can enter all competitors for solo, duo knock out section. Please read section 2.1 regarding entries for Open sections.
1.2 – ELIGIBILITY
The is an amateur competition therefore paid professional dancers, student teachers and dance teachers are not permitted to compete.
1.3 – REGISTRATION DEADLINE
All competitors must be registered in order to compete in the Master of Dance Championships.
Registration is required 30 days prior to the date of the Master of Dance Championships you are registering for.
Registration will not be processed without a valid payment.
Dance schools are required to pay a £100.00 deposit to reserve their schools place at the Master of Dance Championships and the remaining balance to be processed 14 days prior to the Master of Dance Championships.
If the schools entry fee is below £100.00 they are required to make their full payment at the point of registration.
Independent entries are required to pay the full balance at the point of registration.
Music must also be submitted 14 days prior to the Master of Dance Championships.
Please ensure accuracy of spelling when of submitting the competitors name, ages and music titles.
Notification of any changes must be made no later than 14 days prior to the Master of Dance Championships.
1.4 – Forms and Payments
Entrants can make payments via PayPal or entrants request to pay direct through BACS transfer.
All payments must be made in £GBP.
The organisers of the Masters of Dance Championships reserves the right to approve or reject alternative means of payment.
All final fees are required 14 days prior to the Masters of Dance Championships.
Any billing issues must be resolved prior to this deadline.
1.5 – REFUND POLICY
All deposits are non refundable.
All competition fees are non-refundable beyond 14 days prior to competition.
If competitors are unable to attend, schools and independent entries must inform the Masters of Dance Championships organises.
In the result of an inability to attend on the provisory that notice is give at least 14 days prior to the date of the Masters of Dance Championships the school or independent competitor will be entitled to claim a credit note granting them entry to the next available Masters of Dance Championships (Excluding the Masters of Dance National Championships).
– Any notice given less than 14 after prior to the Masters of Dance Championships will not be entitled any form credit.
-The organisers of the Masters of Dance Championships reserve the right to cancel the competition at any point. In the rare event of this happening competition registration fees will be refunded.
1.6 – ADMISSION
Admission for dance competitors is are only permitted via prepaid registration.
Competitors are encouraged to book spectators tickets at the time of registration to avoid disappointment.
Spectators ticket permit the attendee admission to all competition events throughout that day.
Additional spectators may pay for entry on the day subject to available.
The organisers of the Masters of Dance Championships reserve the right to refuse entry or eject competitors and/or spectates they deem are in breach of the overall ethos of the Masters of Dance Championships.
1.7 – PERSONAL INJURY AND PROPERTY LOSS
The organisers of the Masters of Dance Championships will provide opportunity for competitors to warm up in order to avoid injury, however competitors acknowledge that Dancing and particular dance styles carries an element of risk and therefore The ‘Masters of Dance Championships’ Organises, Staff and venue housing the facility shall not be liable for any personal injury sustained during the competition. Nor will they be libel for any loss or damage of persons or personal property sustained by competitors, spectates or other persons, attending the Masters of Dance Championships.
1.8 – MUSIC
Street improvisation solo divisions and contemporary improvisation solo divines require competitors to dance to tracks randomly selected by our in house Dj. The selected tracks chosen at random will be of the appropriate style for the specific dance division.
All other open sections require music to be submitted via the dance school or independent competitor.
1.9 MUSIC SUBMISSIONS
Music for set routine must be submitted in an MP3 format and of professional audio quality no later than 7 days prior to the competition either via our music submissions link or via email to music@modc.org.uk.
This MP3’s should be labelled in the following format:
Dancer Name
Age group
Division
Style Category
For example:
Maddie Ziegler competing in the Senior Solo Division dancing in a Jazz Style would be labelled ‘Maddie Ziegler_Senior_Solo_Jazz’
or
Diversity competing in the Open Teams Division in Street Style would be labelled ‘Diversity_Senior_Teams_Street’
Schools and Independent entries must bring backups of their audio on the day of the Masters of Dance Championships, playable via audio device (Smart phone) or USB on the day of the Competition along with relevant audio adaptors (iphone)
Backups should also be clearly label and of professional audio quality.
1.10 MUSICAL CONTENT
Teachers must use judgement when selecting music and its lyrical contents.
Vulgar, derogatory or sexually suggestive lyrics and words, along with inappropriate dance moves are not deemed as in keeping with the ethics and ethos of the Master of Dance Championships and may result in the competitors disqualification.
1.11 – DANCE WEAR
Street and open divisions have no costume restrictions however competitors must wear clothing that is appropriate for the competitors age.
